The 1st 30 minutes will be focused on asking our Blessed Mother (patroness of the USA under the title of the Immaculate Conception), to intercede for us to remove the rancor and divisiveness that are racking our country. We will process around the church with the statue of our Lady of Fatima and finish by praying the Rosary.
During the 2nd 30 minutes we will have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. We will focus on adoring Jesus, and placing all our trust in His Divine Mercy. We will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and finish with Benediction.
As a prelude to this Eucharistic & Marian Holy hour, please pray: 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary & 1 Glory Be each day for 9 days, for the intentions recommended by the US Catholic bishops which are listed below.
Pre-Election Novena — Daily Intentions
Day #1: October 26 = That our political engagement be guided by our Catholic Faith.
Day #2: October 27 = That our Blessed Mother guide us in confronting racial inequalities & restoring peace in our communities.
Day #3: October 28 = That all will recall the necessity of dialogue, civility, & humility in this election season.
Day #4: October 29 = That all will understand the moral and ethical dimensions of political decisions and decide accordingly.
Day #5: October 30 = That in their political decisions, both voters & elected leaders will uphold the dignity of every human life from the first moment of conception to the last moment of natural death.
Day #6: October 31 = That, as they consider their vote, Catholics will recall both the most important social justice concern of abortion along with all other aspects of Catholic Social Teaching.
Day #7: November 1 = That there will be a transformation of political policies to focus on the dignity of the human person & the common good.
Day #8: November 2 = That we exercise our duty as faithful citizens to defend religious freedom.
Day #9: November 3 = That we understand & embrace the principles of our Catholic Faith that should guide our political involvement and our voting choices.
